Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in South Africa
Distance: 0-50km
Highlights: Day Tour of Pretoria
You will be met at JHB International Airport by a Sama representative who will transfer you to your Pretoria Lodge, where your motorcycle awaits. For those arriving early a tour of Pretoria on motorcycle will be arranged. There will be a welcome dinner at the lodge and after the Tour briefing, the evening will be spent making new friends and enjoying the African evening.

Day 2: Pretoria To Golden Gate National Park
Distance: 400km
Highlights: Exploring the beautiful twisting roads of the Drakensburg
Depart Pretoria, taking the scenic route via our very own Bethlehem, through “Nouportsnek”- an amazingly beautiful mountain pass famous for long twistie's. We will overnight at the foot of the Maluti mountains in the GOLDEN GATE NATIONAL PARK- so named because of the sandstone cliffs that take on a golden glow in the morning or afternoon sun.

Day 3: Golden Gates to Midlands Meander
Distance: +- 200km
Highlights: Fresh green farmlands, home cooked food, quaint little craft stores
Following a scrumptious breakfast, we make our way down into the Natal Midlands. Our route will meander through farmlands, craft shops, breweries and art galleries. The scenery is spectacular, the air is fresh and wholesome and the food is a delicacy to the tongue. Here you will have the opportunity to buy interesting presents and curios to take home. We overnight in the MIDLANDS.

Day 4: Midlands Meander to St. Lucia
Distance 400 km
Highlights: Howick Falls, Sunset hippo and croc cruise
Today we make a stop at the beautiful Howick waterfalls and then continue to St. Lucia, a world renowned natural heritage site, with its beautiful secluded beaches, hippos, crocs, whales, endangered turtles and other wildlife, our home for the next two nights. This afternoon we embark on an exciting sunset river cruise where we see hippos , crocodiles and other estuary wildlife . Tonight you can explore the many restaurants, pubs and cocktail bars that St Lucia has to offer.

Day 5: St. Lucia to Swaziland
Distance: +-300km
Highlights: Kingdom of Swaziland
Following an early start we drive North to the kingdom of SWAZILAND. The landscape changes as we make our way up into the rolling hills of the EZULWINI valley, stopping in at the SWAZI CANDLE FACTORY, to see how beautiful African candles are molded by hand into lions, elephants, turtles and rhinos. Tonight you will be able to view spectacular rock formations (including Sheba’s Breast and Execution Rock) from the deck of the hotel which is based in the cultural hub of Swaziland with restaurants, nightclubs, craft markets, hot springs and the famous “cuddle puddle” all within close range.

Day 6: Swaziland to Maputo, Mozambique
Distance: +- 400km
Highlights: Ngwenya Glass Factory, Maguga Dam
Today we will explore Swaziland driving along scenic winding roads fringed by spectacular mountain scenery, interspersed with gorges and waterfalls. We will stop in at the NGWENA GLASS FACTORY AND MAGUGA DAM, where we will stop to take in the fresh air and get some amazing photographs. From here we go on into Mozambique (passport and possibly visa required). We will be sleeping in Maputo- a typical African City with a Portuguese colonial feel…..our hotel accommodation overlooks the spectacular city lights.

Day 7&8: Maputo to Inhaca Island
Distance: +- 0-50 km
Highlights: Tropical island paradise
Today we leave our motorcycles behind and are transferred to the Island of Inhaca- either by light aircraft or ferry. This tropical Island paradise is home to 6000 people, who, as you will find, have an extremely colorful, laid back lifestyle. We will be staying at a beach hotel and the next day and a half can be spent at your leisure: snorkeling, fishing, water skiing, drinking tropical cocktails and eating delicious Portuguese style sea food- fresh off the fishing boats. The next day we catch a late afternoon flight/ferry back to Maputo where we will be based for another night.

Day 9: Maputo to Hazyview
Distance: +- 350 km
Highlights: Riding the Lowveld Escarpment
After border procedures we re-enter South Africa and make our way past sugar cane fields into the heart of Mpumalanga and the small town of Hazyview, which will be our home for the next 2 nights.

Day 10: Hazyview- Panorama Route- Hazyview Distance: +- 250 km
Highlights: Gods Window, Moholoholo Rehab Centre, Bourke's Luck Potholes, The Three Rondavels, Waterfalls, Magical Views Sites
Waterfalls, magical view sites and Winding Mountain passes will make today one of the highlights of the tour - Gods Window- Berlin & Lisbon falls- Bourke's Luck potholes- Animal Rehab Centre etc. Tonight you enjoy an evening festival at the Shangaan Cultural Village, a truly African experience which includes dances and a delicious traditional meal.

Day 11: Kruger National Park
Distance 0-50km
Highlights: Safari, African wildlife
Today we will bid goodbye to the motorcycles and board a game viewing Safari vehicle which will transport us into the Kruger National Park. This world famous wildlife reserve is home to the BIG 5 and is roughly the size of a small country. The vastness of the park allows ample opportunity to view wild animals in their natural habitat. We will have a full day to spot lions, elephants, birds and many different species of animals.

Day 12: Hazyview to Tzaneen
Distance: +- 0-50 km
Highlights: Rain queens, huge Cycad trees and misty mountains
Today we make our way northwards over a spectacular mountain pass into the wild province of Limpopo. This area is known as the region where the magical rain queen of Africa, Modjadji, lives. Highlights along the route include a stop at the Modjadji cycad forest, the Big Baobab Tree (45m in diameter) and the Ebenezer Dam. The roads here are made for motorcycling with beautiful sweeping corners and breathtaking views. Tonight we sleep in the heart of the Magoebaskloof mountain range- home to silver mist and rain forests

Day 13&14: Tzaneen to Sun City
Distance: +- 400 km
Highlights: Escape to the Lost City
Leaving rain queens and rainforests behind, we drive westwards via the scenic route to SUN CITY and the PILANESBERG nature reserve. Sun-City is a fantasy world, that has been designed to resemble a Lost city in Africa.You will be based in Sun City for two nights. You will have a free day to explore all the glitz, glamour and wildlife. We fully recommend viewing the Big 5 in an early morning hot-air balloon ride over the Pilanesburg followed by a scrumptious champagne breakfast, or enjoying an elephant safari.

Day 15: Sun City to Pretoria
Distance: +- 250 km
Highlights: Magaliesburg Mountains, Hartebeestpoort Dam
Today we head homewards via the HARTEBEESTPOORT DAM to Pretoria. This route is a favorite of local bikers who enjoy breakfast runs out to the dam on weekends. The majestic Magaliesburg Mountain range is en-route and we will stop in at various craft shops so that you can find that last piece of Africa to take back home with you. Tonight we will celebrate our trip around a scrumptious African meal…

Day 16: End of tour

Sadly your tour of South Africa has come to an end. We guarantee that you will take home loads of awesome photographs and fond memories of South Africa the warm people you have met. Transfers will be arranged to the airport.
